And here I thought it had something to do with @Ed Kapuscinski ... no such luck. Kinda lame, actually.

Was able to get the NWSL replacement wheelsets installed into my two Arnold S2’s to replace the original pizza cutters wheelsets. They sure look better. I followed a recommendation and went with the standard 72 wheel flange instead of the 64 semi-fine scale since I feel it will be more reliable on Peco code 55 track. Also, there’s nothing fine scale about this particular S2 model, and the 72 wheel’s flange is still much smaller than the stock wheels.

I only encountered 2 problems:

First was some flash on the plastic wheel insulators on each of the wheelsets. Of course, I didn’t find this until I had installed the wheelsets and rolled the truck with my finger. Roll, roll, roll, jamb... dammit. Try rolling on paper... roll, roll, roll, click, roll, click... dammit. Disassemble truck again. Can’t see anything... where’s the flashlight? Roll, roll, click... hmmmm... what’s that glint? WTF... Really?! Where’s the Xacto. Snaps off flash... repeats 7 more times. Tests rolls each truck... success! Keep in mind that from the first dammit to the WTF was about 2 hours, interrupted by an unsuccessful foray into the black hole of “where the hell is my _____?” which is my garage in search of my magnifying light rig. Can’t find it. That usually means my dear wife has put said item “away” somewhere. I’ll send her on that mission later. Meanwhile, I reassemble both locos, but remember I forgot to check wheel gauge. Pull out standards gauge, all are good... except one that is narrow. Disassemble locomotive, pull truck and disassemble. Pull out wheelset... which reveals second problem: one wheel is slightly loose on axle and will slide.

Does anyone know the best method to secure a metal wheel to metal axle so it doesn’t slide out of gauge?

Loctite® Blue. You can use Loctite® Red, but Red should be considered a permanent solution, impervious to disassembly.

Very nice Bryan!  What paint scheme are you planning?  Is that the steam boiler poking through the roof next to the right cab?  That must have not been comfortable on a warm day.

Other than the headlights which will be installed after painting, construction of the EP-3 body is complete almost complete.  :|  I nearly forgot about the corner marker lamps.   So painting is on hold until they are fabricated.  :(

Missing from the above posted calendar: Dyngus Day April 22 2019

That was fun back when I was growing up in Poland.  I didn't expect to find Śmigus-dyngus celebrated in this country, especially in this touchy-feely, politically correct, and everything-is-offensive or degrading times.  Some girls/women might get offended or feel singled-out.  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Traditionally, boys throw water over girls and spank them with ***** willow branches on Easter Monday, and girls do the same to boys. This is accompanied by a number of other rituals, such as making verse declarations and holding door-to-door processions, in some regions involving boys dressed as bears.

Don't worry, we're going to ruin that too.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Thanks.  I remembered something about Loctite, but couldn’t remember if red or blue was preferred. I’ll go with blue.

Ain’t modeling fun!!!
