Looking at my photos that were taken on a dark day, it appears the green was slightly lighter than most BN locomotives of that time period. But there were a lot of color variations with BN green, depending how who painted it, how fresh the paint was, and most importantly, how much dirt was on it. Plus that was the time period of BN's "White face" scheme, and it would seem more white on the locomotive made the green seem different than older locomotives.
There's a story I remember, don't know how true it was, that an "expert modeler" went to a manufacturer's booth at a train show to complain that their BN colors weren't correct. The vendor rep pulled out a photo of BN's Denver engine terminal, where there were a multitude of different shades of green paint on the various locomotives, and asked the expert "so tell me which color is correct?"
Give it your best shot. Those weren't in service that long and I seem to remember they were kept cleaner than most coal motors.
