I recently started “scratch-bashing” an N scale model of CPKC’s Sandford Fleming theatre car (build thread is underway in ‘Weathering, Detailing, & Scratchbuilding’):
I have found a lot of exterior views on the internet, but have not been able to locate a single pic of the interior of the car. Peteski suggested that I put an info request in this section of TRW.
I’ve tried CP’s customer relations people in Calgary, ExpoRail in Montreal where CP’s archives reside, and a few other CPKC contacts, but so far no one can help out.
Because of the large side windows and the huge picture window, the interior of the end-most portion of the coach will be visible in the model. At this point, I’m just guessing at things like how many tiered platforms? How deep might each platform be, and how many rows of seats per platform? Things like - fixed seating, or moveable armchairs? Upholstery colours, flooring and wall materials/colours, aisle(s), handrails, steps, etc?
In the end, I might have to wing it, but my preference is to try to get it right. So, here’s hoping that someone might conjure up some magic and shed some light on how these theatre cars are typically configured inside. Thanks in advance for any help!
