Railroad picture archives.net gone what do you guys use now

Well the site was working for me up until a few days ago. I used it for looking up weathering ideas and Loco paint jobs. What are some other sites that i can use to find good photos. I find that most of the time just googling it doesn't find what i am looking for.

That site has been up and down for years - are we sure it is really gone this time? (I hope not!)

Meanwhile, some of my go to sites are:

https://www.railcarphotos.com (you need to register but it is free)

https://www.rr-fallenflags.org

Railroad Picture Archives has had reliability issues for years, but always comes back up.  I suspect that, if it ever goes down for good, there will be some kind of announcement.

Rail car photos has a sister site, loco photos. I also use Flickr as a source.

Lock4244:  I use the Canadian Freight Car site almost as much as Railroad Picture Archives.  Not as many pictures, but they seem to have a different selection, and often older pictures.

As Mark said, http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/ is another good site, and, again, quite a few pictures unique to the site.

if looking for reference photos of engines. go to *ebay, and type in the RR name and "slides" as in "Clinchfield Slides", a lot of good shots will pop up of engines.
Ive used the method with good results for reference.

If you do, let us know so we can all pitch in and update the Commodore 64 he's currently using to serve images.    :P

LOL. I couldn't afford  VIC20, C62, or Radio  Shack CoCo.  My first personal computer experience was  a Sinclair ZX81 in a kit form for $99. I assembled it and then learned BASIC and Z80 machine language (entering the instructions by-hand, one-byte-at-a-time).  Fun times!

I REALLY want to get him to go with Next.JS and Vercel. It'd blow your MINDS how performant that ***** is.

I started with a TI 99 -- then upgraded to a C64, C128, Amiga 500, Amiga 2000 .. those 68000 chip based machines were always better than the IBM and 8080 / 8086 based clones .. At work, Unix System V .. and some others I can't talk about ;)
