FNS Empire State Express Hudson Shell limited rerun available until 11/30

Hello all,

Yay, I think that I managed to cobble up interest in a rerun and have assembled a supply chain to get a few of these kits to market.

I was saddened that this shell is no longer available, so I put some effort into encouraging Dick Billings of Fine N Scale to resurrect the molds for the ESE Hudson shell.

Dick said the molds were shot and was initially reluctant, but said he would try to make one kit for me and see how it went. He has done a test with this new mold and is pleased, confirming he can get a good casting. He is about a millimeter from retirement and this mold will only last as long as it lasts.

I also contacted Richard Martin from Ricosrailroom on eBay to see if he had any remaining stock squirreled away and because Dick does not direct sell to customers. Richard works with FNS and is willing to sell whatever Dick can get done with this mold, but he warns, and I quote “If you think that some of your buddies or friends will want one, I suggest that you try to get them to do it now before Dick changes his mind. Not trying to give you a sell job, just being honest - Dick is ready to hang it up and he hasn't been looking for someone to take over.”

So here is the deal.

I did not want to be the middle man on this, but I wanted one of these NYC locomotives badly and appreciate that other people might want one too.

So I agreed to get a count of people who want these kits by the end of the week, report back, and then connect you directly with Richard so you can pay him for whatever can get made with this mold. Very nice of them both to make this effort with a new mold and I want to respect that.

So, PM me with your name, email info, and qty ordered by November 30th.

That will be the total count, and I will then connect you with Richard to get your order fulfilled. No guarantees on how many will be done with this mold and I honestly did not ask the price, but I think it was around $40 the last time I checked.

I’m not getting anything out of this, except hopefully one kit to buy and that is pretty good.
I’m just trying to do my bit for N-scale.

Im in. Had one before and found it to be a great casting. Would love to see if it can be made to fit the bachmann chassis.
