Was just wondering if Tangent would ever come back to the N scale market and here they are just like that.   

But alas, I think I have my fill of CSX 4750s from Precision Masters, Red Caboose and Atlas.  So at $42.95 a piece it's going probably be a pass for me

Lovely! Too bad they're 15 years after my modeling period. 

But that's OK. I gorged on Tangent's UP quad hoppers, one of every number in the two runs in original tuscan. I've done my part.

Since the excellent Fox Valley 4740 hopper apparently is in the re-run deep freeze, I wish Tangent had done this slightly smaller, slightly older version of covered hopper rather than yet another 4750.

I guess it's "Let's duplicate other manufacturer's successful car models week" in N scale.

So many other choices of covered hoppers needed to fill out the fleet, although I admit the cars look wonderful. Hope these roll better than the quad hoppers.

Only the CSX cars fit my era (maybe fudge the BN, only a year too late), but I'm glad the opportunity to replace a few of the Intermountain cars in my fleet with factory body mounted couplers exists. There's a number of cars that do in HO that I'd like to see come to N scale, namely the Greenville 6000cf boxcar Greenville 86' boxcar, the General American 4500 and 4700 covered hoppers, or the earlier 4750.

Only the CSX cars fit my era

Same here...no BN 3-bar scheme in my 1989 world.  I'll get one of the CSX and hopefully they'll do the P-S version in the future with some older schemes.    I won't buy large fleets at that price, but I'll grab a few.

My understanding is that the 1988 car is made by Trinity versus PS in the 70s. Trinity did some changes to the PS design.

Personally, I'm in for all the BNs, my era they are brand new and they ran them in unit trains

The thing that's most noticeable to me is the jacking pad area. The earlier PS built cars are less bulky without a hole, and the trinity built cars are bulkier with a distinct round cutout hole. Its a subtle but very noticeable detail.

They former is represented in the IM model, the latter in with this new Tangent release. I'm not familiar with the other N scale 4750's.

These cars are great for modern outline modelers, they are still running around in BN green.
