I visited the HO scale Canadian Central last week during an open house.  There's "only" roughly 25-30' of scenery complete, but it's enough to make me want to start a different hobby.

Completed New London station and footbridge for the HO scale Central Vermont in Northern California group (https://cvrailroad.com/).  Just about everything was made with a laser cutter.  Brick is paper brick from Model Brick Yard (https://www.modelbrickyard.com/en).  Brick is printed and then laminated to 1/16" basswood plywood and then facade layers are made with the laser cutter.

WOW Doug, that is impressive build. The brick work really looks great.

Finished my craft paint carousel done.

No modeling for me, unfortunately, as I had a total hip replacement on November 8th. But on November 12th, my layout was featured on Narrow Gauge Off the Beaten Track on YouTube. If my speech sounds choppy and slightly slurred, it's because I was on painkillers. I went back to work on the 12th, so I had to wait until evening to take the painkillers....right before the stream. But, nevertheless, it does do a decent job of showing you how I built the RGS and then takes you on a mile-by-mile tour with explanation.

I watched the video. Crazy how simple the layout is, but very detailed. I hate grades as well  :P

That is a masterpiece!  Truly excellent modeling.  I often wonder why so many models in smaller scales have 3D brick when it the texture really isn't noticeable in real life.  Perception I guess (and I'm as guilty as the next) or the old "why add interior details to a 1:72 B-17 when it won't be visible"... because you'll know it!

5 minutes to work on trains this morning. So I’ve jumped on the TTrak bandwagon to model a few WM scenes that don’t really fit with what I’m doing in FreemoN. The Emory Grove interlocking will be my first go. I bought the Kato single crossovers not realizing they had concrete ties and American tie spacing under the turnouts. When they showed up, I couldn’t figure out why everyone complains about the appearance of Unitrack. Then the pieces to fill the gap showed up and I understood 🤣.

Quite a contrast. Ok, what about concrete ties all the way around. Better, but it’s going to be a pain painting ever. Single. Tie.

Then I got an idea!

I’ve done some winter modeling a long time ago. There are a lot more products out there now, and my skills have improved. This could be fun. And I’ve also realized that TTrak modules are small enough to travel with me for work This could be a whole new chapter for me!

More progress on the Sperry car build this week:  https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=57684.45

Also worked on my scratchbuilt turnout and crossover for the NMRA's Civil Engineering Certificate requirements.  This week I got the guardrails bent:

and I also got all of the wood ties cut to their various lengths:

All of the components have now been prepared and I can proceed with assembly of the rails to the PCB ties.  If these projects go well I may elect to go this route for my future staging yard.

Ed Jones' M1a visited the PRSL on Wednesday.
Although it struggled with my trackwork, grades, and the 20 car "Sand Hog', it is an absolutely beautiful engine.

The unprotected Lyedrick Mine Junction T-Trak module has been taking a beating between shows and storage so I thought it would be a good idea to create another 3' module to protect it.  (Modules are stored top to top with end pieces holding them together.)

I was fascinated by some of the Outland Models. They look pretty good as long as you don't look too closely.
The Jonesboro Townhouses module used 2 Outland buildings and an old Bachmann factory.

The Outland auto dealership is loaded with cheap Temu junky cars.
I ordered 1:160 models but they ran out and sent me a bunch of crappy 1:200 autos so I used them to populate the module. (You can only get away with this if you do not use scale people on the module.)
Sloppy and junky module but it gets the job done and I doubt if the targeted (children) audience will know the difference.

Still spending too much time on the HandCab-DC throttle.  This is a DC throttle where the controls mimic the control stand in a GP7/9

Put up a demo of the unfinished version....

Finishing up the CAD work on the printed parts that will hold a number of components.  Only basically need one component to make it work, the $4 12v 2a PWM Motor Controller but I've got a probably crazy idea to add sound to it.  The 4 main parts came in to make that possibly happen and will pause on the CAD work to see if they can produce sound for the DC throttle.  If it works that will be a build option but for no sound the cost is the $4 motor controller and a few other items you probably have on hand plus some 3D printing supplies.  If sound happens it won't be a whole lot more.

During the week I'll continue to update any progresst on Railwire here...

Very nice.

You ought to consider marketing your paint carousel in kit form.
