Well this is what I've been doing over the last couple weeks, granted mostly waiting on track, but I've got the track where I want it.
This is my Japanese desk layout in Z scale. It is 30" x 12"
Track is all Rokuhan, because it's just unitrack but Z scale.
Yes, that is a double slip, and yes I know most places would not do that, but for operations sake it works perfectly, and I really wanted an excuse to have a double slip.
Done in Anyrail.
I don't have a concrete location, but it will be based in Japan.
I've considered basing in Hokkaido prefecture, because for some reason, I'm drawn to Hokkaido.
So far I've only got a Kiha 52 as passenger service, and a DE10 for most of whatever freight I decide to run. Which for now is a couple Taki 1000s in the really pretty green and grey paint.
I do have the C11 and a DD51 which came out of a Evangelion set with a Shiki 800 (Schnabel)
I have an elevated line that is in the works as well, but it will be non functional/display track. So far that will be my only "electrified" line so I can store either my E231 Yamanote line or my EVA 500 Shinkansen.
Eventually I'll pick up more structures, and fill it in some.
I'm a huge fan of the Sankei card stock structures.
I made this one and it's tiny bits in those last couple of weeks.
Yes. Yes that is a dog house. Yes I had to put it together.
Also I will have lighted interiors in all of the buildings at some point, but for starters, this is my platform lighting. I'm not sure how I feel about the color, but I may get over it until I find some daylight COB LEDs.
This is Garfield, the only time he is well behaved, is when he's watching trains. Orange cats are crazy.
