Loren,

Thank you for the wonderful GMM products that you brought to us - I hope the products can be "handed off" to someone else. Regardless, I am grateful for the "inventory" of your products that I have on hand.

I am sorry to hear about your health issues, and I hope that by closing the business you will be able to enjoy your time more.

Best wishes,

Mark

  4. Finally, although I rarely spoke of such things in public, I do believe that Jesus Christ was the real deal and is among us today. I do believe that he willingly died on the cross to save us from our sins and rose from the dead a few days later. Too many witnesses to all of this make it impossible for me to believe otherwise. This is my personal belief and I truly hope as many people as possible come to feeling the same. I can feel that I'm getting closer each day to standing before God in judgement and I rely on Jesus's sacrifice to help me pass through the gates of Heaven. Please keep this in mind today as we navigate the perils of a very insecure future. Thousands of innocent people around the world are losing everything now due to unforeseen disasters, both natural and man-made. Please try to get your souls prepared. Personally, I'd like to think that maybe I can be the sort of individual that God (and his son Jesus) wouldn't mind allowing me to hang around with them. Try to do the same if you can. Make them smile.

Loren as another saved person (2009) I wish you well and pray that the Lord will give you rest and comfort as you go through this .    Mike

Loren,

Great Testimony!

May the Lord bless you with his strength and grace.
May he guide you, and keep you as you go through these trying times in your life.

I've admired your work from ships to trains.

Hi Loren

Sorry to hear of your health issues; I have enjoyed meeting you at the NSM advisory board meetings.  I wish you well going forward.

I do use your parts on a regular basis so will send an email to see if the ones I use are still available.

Best wishes,

Tim

It's a shame it has to come to an end. I was only recently introduced into the North American fine-scale N scene and was looking forward to more purchases.
The are many 'seniors' I have come to respect both on and offline, full of experience and wisdom.

Hopefully someone can carry on the range of products.

Take care and stay well.

Regards from an international 'N'thusiast.

Yeah, this really sucks.   Both from your personal perspective and for a just excellent source of material.

I was doing up a project this week and realized I only have one section of chain link fence left.....argh.

And I also confirmed (without using names) the report about the commercial etcher, kind of the hard way.  I was hoping that wasn't true.

It's going to hit more than just GMM.

The supply chain in modeling is a lot more limited and fragile than you think.   I've learned that the hard way, we all remember how Rivarossi just ..... disappeared, all the Yugo stuff....disappeared.    Who controls the tooling, and where it is, is a real issue.  And in China, unlike 'our' practice, a company can just close and walk out and everybody shows up to find locked doors.  It's happened.    I lost my gearhead supplier with no trace.  Even if the product line has value, doing an orderly transition OUTSIDE the US is very tricky.   Shapeways, bang, you're dead.
