New Atlas U23B and B23-7s Silver (Speakers)

I was not sure what to expect after the SD45s from Atlas regarding speaker location, etc.

I have received my B23-7 and U23B silver engines. The speaker is not in the fuel tank, like earlier Atlas Silver engines. It is mounted under the circuit board at the rear. The speaker wires plug into a connector on the board. There is another small, white plug toward the front which I assume is an E24 decoder connection - it's way too small to be a Next18. Unfortunately, there is no info on the parts diagram included in the box that clarifies this.

You should find this thread helpful:  https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=58111.0

I'm a bit confused though as the E24 connectors I have ever seen are black, not white. Next18 are off-white plastic.

Hi Bill,
Any pictures of the new atlas frame of each type?

Cheers
Allan

Is there some secret back channel source for these things? None of my normal online outlets are even listing them yet.

Guys, that looks exactly like the board I reverse engineered and linked to the full writeup  in my initial post.  Follow the link. All the info you ever wanted to know about it.

My simple "I got C's in both electrical engineering courses I had to take" brain just wanted something more obvious on the board like "Plug in E24 decoder here!"  :D
