So poking around the interwebs and here have led me to believe that without the ESU 73100 it's no longer possible to add sound to a GP15 without hardwiring a decoder. Are there any other options now? I had briefly considered finding a GP7/9 chassis, but I'm not sure if that would fit either.

I did an install on the Atlas N Trainman GP15-1 using the ESU LS5 58751 and milled the rear split-frames for a custom SBS4DCC 8mm x 12mm speaker baffle, the speaker was a Soberton SP-1208. I hardwired the orange and gray motor leads to the bottom pcb traces, ran kapton tape to isolate from the frame. I have pictures of my install up on the SBS4DCC website (thank you Bryan Vianco). Hope this was helpful 🚂
