The EP-4 project is still in progress as there remains the second unit to complete, in the layer cake scheme. The roof and noses have been masked and painted, and the nose decals have been added. The mechanism errors have been corrected and await final assembly. Decals will be followed by headlights, glass, pantographs and final assembly.

The hi-rail O scale 24' NP caboose came together today and is ready for the paint shop.

I made this track bumper that closely resembles the one at the Hoboken terminal. It consists of 16 styrene parts and I will need 6 of them. Let me know if someone has suggestions in making a mold to duplicate the part.

Forgot to share this last week. I replaced the ore chute at Rico. When I first built the layout, I used the Grandt Line (now San Juan Models) Silverton Ore Chute as-is, with the enclosed loading shed, because I thought it looked more interesting than the open truck dump ramps that actually existed at Rico (there were likely three in total around Rico, including one very long, tall ramp just behind the depot area where mine is). But as I've been working toward a more prototypically-correct RGS, I decided it was time to revisit the Silverton Ore Chute.

The model on the left is the as-is kit, and on the right is my new kitbash that includes a stripwood deck and ramp with an open grate. While it's still more complicated than anything that existed at Rico, it's a little closer to the big ramp behind the depot and it's unique so doesn't look so obviously Grandt Line. I'm currently building a Wieseman white-metal 1920s-era Kleiber dump truck to go with it.
