It's been two weeks since I placed my order with the Polish gear vendor.  Haven't heard a word other than confirmation that my money is gone.
Should I be concerned?

Well that doesn't fill me with hope.   :(

Our old friend Victor fabricated a couple of testers for me, which I've installed.  They appear to be plastic, and more or less to spec.  It runs, but it's cogging a bit, so something is still off.

I'm concerned that it might be slight variation in the diameter (6 mm vs the 5.98mm that Ron measured).
I'm going to try loosening the keeper plate under the main drive gear and see if that helps.

I didn't get to the mailbox yesterday... so I got it out of my mailbox today.

It makes me happy that people read my posts to the extent that I get questions about the most ridiculous aspects of my comments.

Success!

The brass gear from Poland is a success!

I had to ream out the mounting hole a wee bit, but I've gotten the P7 back together, and with a dot of gear grease and two spare nylon gears as back ups, I feel like I'll get to run this beauty as part of my regular fleet.
Very excited about this.  Thanks to everyone for your input.
