WOW! Atlas showing U33B and U36B on home page

I just saw it on their home page.
There will be much weeping  (most with joy, Conrail fans with sadness).
It is also now on their delivery schedule.

This has been a huge need in N scale.

(lot of other goodies in the catalogue too.)

I'm going to be the guy that says I wish it were a U28B and/or a U30B, but happy for you nonetheless.

Build/design it yourself, and some manufacturer will come along and do it RTR

I was about to say this is only because of that other thread.

Near miss for me: a U36C would have my wallet running scared.

I'll be looking forward to 3D designers making extras.

Almost, but not quite: the U33C is one of my looked-after locomotives. Wallet marked safe today.

U33/36B models come with ESU's E24 connector too. This could be a sign that the SCL/Auto Train light clusters are fully functional.

Heh. It seems like Atlas must be on an anti-Kato/anti-ScaleTrains kick. No Western roads were harmed in the planning for these particular models.

OK, here is the obligatory thread drift.....

I think that Atlas' historian has incorrectly captioned the photo of their in their anniversary catalogue.

Page 7 say the photo on the left shows the "Front view of the Atlas Headquarters at 378 Florence Ave. in Hillside, NJ - 1959". However the the car on the left in the photo sure looks like the back of a 1971 Chevrolet Biscayne to me.

Yes but there exceptions: EMC SC built, EMD GP40X (ATSF / BNSF) built, SD38-2 built, SF30B & SF30C (nearly built), CF7 (Randy has been building them) - there will be a lot more :)
However I did kitbash several SDP40F locos - along came Kato with it's version and a kitbashed U25C and along came Arnold with it's version. One of my failures seemed to shape the ether with a model being produced - RSD15 Alligator and along came BLI with their one..... Hmm too many along came Jones!!!

C855B:  Other than RI, did any western roads buy a U33/36B?

Nope, only the six axle versions.

I know how you feel. I jazzed up several Life-Like original GP-38-2s, then Kato released theirs, and then Atlas released theirs. And I bashed several GP-39-2s, and Atlas released theirs. I started to redo a Mehano C-420 and started a C-628 and , yup, Atlas did theirs. Now the U33B.......I have done a couple of U33Cs, who is going to release them?
