With the NJ Internationel brass grade crossing signals long out of production (and not easily obtained), Showcase Minatures just annouced their own version. Looks even better than the NJ International. (Attachment Link) Coming Soon, our N Scale Grade Crossing Signal - This one can be lighted with our 402 LEDs….AND….it contains parts for you to make it operate! The kit will include stainless photo-etch details, brass tubing, pewter and resin parts. I know there are HO fans reading this, so yes, it will come to HO scale soon.
I'm not conversant in crossing gate technology. What does "modern" mean here ("Modern North American style"), in terms of year of introduction? (The "modern" era seems to vary according to who you talk to)
Edit: yeah also no visible bells, like Ed said.
The 'wishbone' style would be a less modern crossing gate.https://www.google.com/search?q=wishbone+crossing+gate&tbm=ischThe Showcase product is a last few decades style, with the single gate arm.Edit: yeah also no visible bells, like Ed said.
I'm confused here... "no visible bells". Are we talking about the SM model? It's got a classic bell at the top, it's just in profile.
