My rule of thumb. Appropriate level of detail is what I can see from a 195 degree cone placed at the sill.I Care about grabs,I care about ladders and walks,I care about whatever spotting detail is unique to that specific car. I really do not care what the under body looks like besides something visibly protruding like a Cylinder or Triple Valve, Gladhands are fine as long as they don't interfere with anything. But I have yet to see anyone point out that my 3D printed auto parts car is just a plastic sled underneath when its nestled among  Bluford and Trainworx peers.

The couplers really look the part but don’t necessarily couple positively on the first attempt; it may take one or two attempts to get them to ‘click’ together. However, once coupled, they remain coupled. I haven’t had any inadvertent uncouplings.

Is this coupling to like kind couplers? Or is this with MTL couplers? (or both?)

These VTTX container flats are just the first release in JTC’s plan to model more variants of these PS 60’ flats. I’m looking forward, especially the farm machinery versions!

Thanks for the info! 8) Waiting for these to see the light of day (so I can order an example) - looking forward to picking up some (including the OTTX).

They actually couple better to MT couplers (N and Z) better than to each other! Regardless, they stay coupled to all no matter what

I like that.
Is there any slack action?  Like even a tiny bit?

My 10/84 ORER lists no 60’ VTTX cars.  I read on the MFCL Group that the conversions started in 1985.  I will be passing on this first release.  Hopefully these sell well enough that they follow through with OTTX and perhaps MTTX versions.  There were plenty of those in boxcar red and early yellow repaints.  Thanks.

I remembered these flats are also in the ATTX series, a lot in military service.

I may have to get a couple extra for renumbering and do a couple with ammunition containers.

Thanks Jeff - I guess this means my wallet can dodge this release! Will look forward to the earlier variants (OTTX, etc).

Good evening,
We wanted to start the year off right with some highly anticipated new and exciting releases. I am not Pullman your chain here, so see these great product features below that many modelers will greatly appreciate in the Pullman 60' flatcar series. You will see these products have been set up differently to the normal product display that you might be used to seeing on the JTC website. The general car variated decoration will be first then you will select from the drop down, which shows the item number and road number. One dead giveaway: they all have post 82 COTS panels.

These Bluford pages are incredibly good references.

I am somewhat aware of COTS: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=46456.0   ;)

What helped was that Jeff indicated that these were "conversions" and that per the MFCL the conversions started in 1985 (also that the VTTX was not on the 1984 ORER).  :D

Has anyone seen these in-store yet or are the only being sold via JTC this time around? I've been checking Midwest Model Railroad and Lombard and have yet to see any of the flats get listed.
