Nothing too fancy for me, but this week I designed this conveyor belt for a local modeler.  He needed some extensions to a Walthers kit.  I don't know which kit it is exactly, but it's a long conveyor to an ore or coal dump that goes with the discontinued steel mill kits.

Chessie had 900 2700 cu ft center flow cars which later went to CSX. These cars are easily identified by the hopper bodies that don't go to the end of the car.

I made this as a two piece design with the hopper bays snapping into place. I'm really happy with how well the roofwalk turned out.

Edit: Numbers are C&O/B&O 604600 - 605499. DT&I also had a handful that went to GTW. I noticed that the hopper bays in the pictures are not snapped all the way in. This is a user error, not a design problem.

These are looking really good, amazing what we can do at home with a 3d printer. I was surprised by how few supports there are showing on the bottom, I was thinking you had done these parallel to the plate. Looking at the inside I think I can see a 45 degree striation so wondering if you did angle them? Just a suggestion, if you are doing them at 45 try rotating them 15 degrees on the build plate, i have found that this really helps with the layer lines on the side. Easy enough to sand out too. Great job!

Any interest in trying something similar with a Trinity 3280 modern cement hopper, or playing with a snap in roof for old Precision Masters 4750s?

See this thread.

Visiting family for the torturing of the bird holiday, but did manage to do a bit of grime work before I left town.

Gonna try to catch a few more real trains Monday to get candidates for weathering. This SAMX hopper cries out for modeling.

If someone draws up the 3280 or the Procor Sodium Chlorate cars, that might get the respective manufacturers to announce there in RTR.

I found a Precision Masters 4750 anniversary car in my junk collection. A new roof with see-through walkway looks like a doable project. I'll post in the other thread with progress later in the week.

I already did several versions of the Procor and CGTX sodium chlorate cars. Still crickets from Rapido so far.

I released some 3d created track tie strips for Hon30.

I'm also working on a module standard for Hon30 TTrak that uses my 3d files. I'd love to know if anyone might be interested in that (I'm working with another modeler from the Augusta KS Railroad club to cook the standards up). I feel like with the track riser design and the track I've helped democratized (maybe open sourced) an Hon30 approach to TTrak.

1. Hon30 track ties strips for code 55 rail
https://www.printables.com/model/658152-hon30-track-tie-strips-for-code-55-rail

2. Hon30 TTrak riser so you can create you own Hon30 TTrak module. I am working with John Kraft on the specs for those now.  https://www.printables.com/model/658098-hon30-ttrak-riser

The TTrak dimensions are built around a normal n scale TTrak double. I have it modeled here and it uses hardboard and epoxy construction. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/7jt7hsdAxD6-hon30-ttrak-1x2-double-module

My tie strips compared to the Peco Hon30 SL-400 flex track.
