USRA Heavy 2-10-2 driver diameter?

Does anybody here know the diameter of the drivers on the USRA Heavy 2-10-2?

I can find that they were 57" on the USRA light version.

I am interested in modeling the B&O S1a "Big Six" locomotives, which had 64" drivers, similar to the 2-8-2s.  I know that draskouasshat talks about stretching the Kato heavy mike frame to make 2-10-2s.  I would appreciate any URLs to "how to" articles about doing that, too.

The USRA heavy 2-10-2 had 63" drivers, according to the wiki. But also, according to wiki, the S1 and S1a had 58" drivers.

Of course, it is wikipedia, so I don't consider either of those as definitive. And particularly with railroads that rebuilt their steam locos over time- a loco did not necessarily have the same driver diameter late in life that it was built with.

UP and ATSF both had 63"

He specifically asked about USRA- and those specs say 63".  I assumed he asked because he was trying to determine which chassis would work best for him, as USRA are the most commonly available in N.

Yes, the B&O had 58" drivers on its first S-1 2-10-2 locos, and went to 64" on the later S-1a locos.  Those seem to be about 1" larger than the USRA light and heavy designs.  I do have driver spacing info for both the USRA heavy and the B&O S-1a, and they are the same at 67".  So, I guess the B&O just had 1" less clearance between driver flanges.

Anyway, that is good news for getting a frame and drive wheels for an N scale model. 

Trying to mike the Con-Cor "Rail Baron" USRA Heavy model, the wheels seem to be about 61.5"and the flanges seem to be about 70", with the spacing at about 72".  So, as Spookshow Mark pointed out, there are some minor variations from the prototype dimensions, particularly the wheelbase being a tad long, but is seems to "look right" so far as N scale is concerned.

Anybody planning to make a 3-D print for this model to convert to a B&O S1a?
