Almost done, Phase 1 and Phase 2. Still thinking about how to do the class lights. 5125 will be renumbered to a non DB number.
Looking very good!Have you considered these for the class lights? https://highballgraphics.com/index.php/1340/21/accessory-decals/accessory-decals-n-scale/canadian-accessory-decals-triple-class-lights-n-scale-detail
This is very nice, imo the most overlooked units in CN's fleet.
A package arrived earlier today with six of these CN goodies. I can't post pics now... keep getting the 'folder is full message' others have been getting. Slapped one onto a chassis (the pilots aren't glued on) and took it for a spin on the "layout". I have to admit I'm pretty pleased with the quality of these shells. They fit onto the Kato SD40 chassis perfectly snug with zero play yet easy to remove. Fuel tanks snap on snug as well. The mix of low profile and regular height radiator / DB fan housings is a real must for any CN GP40, SD40, GP38-2/W, GP40-2L/W, and SD40-2W model as by the mid 1970's they were freely mixed amongst those models. Any order could be seen, but two regular height flanking a low profile was always my personal favorite as it sorta gave an idea of what a CN SD35would look like. CN's SD40's were delivered with low profile fans from what I've seen in pictures of them when new. This shell yields a very CN looking SD40 combining the headlight in the low nose, proper bell placement, correct class lights, some with and some without a dual rear or a single rear headlight, and some with and some without the rear number boards. There may be a little interference between the fuel tank and the walkways (a little bowing on the walkway) however this may be caused by sprue nubs that I need to clean up under the walkway.
I need to correct that the regular emd fans are not included except upon request....and you requested them.Enjoy the builds!
