ESU Atlas Legacy 58751 decoders

I just finished installing 2 of these decoders and man, I really like the upgrades they made to these decoders. They have added solder pads for keep alives, similar to the Kato board.

Yes, that is a nice addition, but there isn't enough room in narrow hood N scale locos for even the smallest ESU Power Pack (and a speaker with enclosure).  So to me it is a bit of a wasted addition. But it is nice to have it available.  Or are you thinking of just adding one or two tantalum caps and not even using the Power Pack control pad?

That's not what I wrote. No problem using the GND and +U pads for adding plain tantalum caps. I thought the big deal was the dedicated Power Pack Control pad. 

I have one of my "peteski write-ups" on this decoder coming soon (just need to find some time to assemble all the photos and text).

Have you done one on the ESU 58741 KATO USA board or have I missed it ? Is it very similar to any of your other write-ups ?

Yeah just adding a couple of caps. I have been using the Run-N-Smooth Power Keeper from Iowa Scaled Engineering in a few projects. Only recently have I been using the power keeper from TCS, the KA-N1. It is smaller in size but offers a larger capacitance than the one from ISE.

So John, what is your point ? I did not ask about anything except the 58741 which is for the KATO USA type. The above link does not include that decoder.
PS - I hope that Pete does not follow your suggestion for an easy index as you refer to the LS5 58741 Micro DCC KATO Widebody. That is incorrect !

I got the numbers mixed up.  The Kato Widebody is 58941 and what you were asking about is the 58741  My mistake.
