Started building structures for my as-yet unnamed HOn30 Wild West fantasy micro layout. This kit is from Wild West Scale Models. The only name I've settled on for the layout so far is that the main town is going to be called Scotch Creek:

I put an interior in but you can't see it...

Built another Wild West Scale Models kit. The figure is a cast pewter figure from Knuckleduster. Painting those things even with primer is a pain.

I joined Railwire just to reply to this post, so I hope it's worth it. You were saying something about fixing the 0-6-0 Porter's cab, and quite recently I found something on Shapeways that does just that. It has a cab replacement, but also a smokebox extender if you're into that.

Nice! Yeah, the stock cab is tiny and wouldn't fit humans, but on the other hand at least it has a fuel bunker. My initial concern was that it doesn't sit tight on the frame and can "slop" back and forth...something that a dab of glue could fix.

We'll see. But thanks for the tip!

Thank you! I was going to add images but I guess I'm not allowed to yet.

James Hilton does crazy good work in every scale and recently he self-published a planning book. I’m really looking forward to receiving my copy!

Dave, In the latest video where you reveal you've gone nuts and decided to try HOn30. Around 17:00 what are the 2 buildings to the right of the Micro Engineering hardware shop?

One's an old Main Street Heritage Models kit and the other is the Micro Engineering saloon.

Ah figures, both unobtanium.  :|   About 5 years ago I ordered from Main Street Heritage and I think the guy had a heart attack. Months later I asked for a return of my $ and his son replied and gave it to me. Months after that the guy sent me the kit anyways. They are nice kits.

So I said I would do Gilpin cars. And then was worried how to print them with a warp down the side at the level of the frame. test printed one today and barely anything. Altering the drawing a bit to try to get rid of the little bit that was there.

It is a TINY car!  Need to work on the TINY trucks next.

Looks awesome Chris!!! Really nice work. Are you going to put those on shapeways or something like it? :)

I dunno yet as others sell similar cars.

These trucks are so small. It is a case of when you use N scale tucks under HOn30 and they are oversized!
