Drivers Wanted!

In N scale, that is!

Unless I've missed a source for N scale vehicle driver figures somewhere, there are no good solutions to fill up all those empty N scale trucks, busses, autos, heavy equipment, etc.

It would be great if they came already holding steering wheels, which are often also missing in N scale vehicles (big and flat ones for trucks, etc., and smaller, more vertical ones for cars).

On the subject, wasn't there a relatively recent post about extremely realistic, 3D figures that were printed in color? Can't seem to find it now.

I saw those figures in Luke Towan's last video. I went to the website for a look. They looked great!, but I wondered if the HO version was shown in the nscale section? I can't remember the company name.

Thanks for the link! Haven't spotted a driver yet, however.

Also, I can't find what scale these are in and, if they're in N scale, if it's 1/160 or 1/150.

Also, I can't find what scale these are in and, if they're in N scale, if it's 1/160 or 1/150.

In my N scale humans experience, 1:150 people can coexist  with 1:160 people on an American layout.  After all, 1:1 humans come in a wide range of heights and weights. A 1:150 person will appear as a tall 1:160 person.

But there is another thing to consider.  My experience with populating N scale passenger cars with figures i realized that N scale interiors are quite undersized. That is because the materials the car is made of is much thicker than 1:1 scale, so the interiors have to be compressed.  Even with legs amputated, often the N scale figures are too portly to properly fit into the car seats.  I have to file down their rumps, lower backs and sometimes even the sides of their hips.  I sometimes use Z scale figures to populate passenger car interiors.

I suspect the same holds true with N scale automobile models.  Figures specifically designed to fit into N scale automobiles should be made undersized  to fit the car's interior (probably 1:180 scale or even smaller).

I have no problem performing amputations, etc., as needed to fit a given N scale vehicle. I just want a figure that is intended to look like a driver. Also, I do not want to by a whole set of figures in various positions just to get the one in the set that might pass as a driver.

Get a bag of those cheap figures from China that you have to paint. Lop them down, paint em up, and send them down the road.
