Just got a message from mountain subdivision hobbies that they have the ESU Lok sound 58751 in stock. Now I just need to go sell some plasma or even body parts

Looks like it!

"The LokSound 5 micro DCC Atlas Legacy is also a “direct style decoder developed for early (before 2016) Atlas, Intermountain (and others). The decoder was made for locos produced before sound was added during production. This replaces the popular ESU 73100 Select Direct Micro."

Get them while they're around.  They go quickly and are hard to find for a few months til the next run.  Currently 23 in stock  https://store.sbs4dcc.com/esu53452lokprogrammerset.aspx

Atlas Legacy boards - 157 in stock https://store.sbs4dcc.com/ESU58751LokSound5MicroDirectNMRADCCSoundDecoder-AtlasLegacyTyp.aspx

I wish the Kato Widebody were out, I need a few of them for locos the Wutter board didn't fit.

No affiliation with Streamlined Backshop, just a very satisfied customer.

Me too. I could use a wutter board, but I can wait. I just check every month or so to see if they are in.

I was thinking that these would be what I need for a pair of Atlas Classic RS3s, but I'm not sure these will work without milling the frame? Anyone tried them in that application yet?

Thanks!

Bill Denton did an RS1 using a V5 Nano but had to mill the frame. Anything "classic" pretty much means milling something to get sound, or something other than a TCS decoder into

These are designed for locomotives that had a factory DCC option, but not a factory sound option. Something like this GP-30, (thanks Spookshow for the picture!) The RS1 & RS3 have never had factory DCC support until the most recent announcement, which also included sound.
