NMRA Regional Convention in Tacoma WA Sept 1-4

When I found out about this event, I got excited.....

Then I found the price of admission. $150.00 ??? (Exhibitor fees are much higher)

Is this normal??? I'm hoping that I'm such a stupid schmuck that I can't even the correct pricing.........

Seems that way.  Ouch!  Looks like there's a $50 day pass you can get at the door.

The 42nd National Narrow Gauge Convention will be held in Tacoma, WA over the Labor Day weekend (September 1 - 4, 2022) at The Hotel Murano in downtown Tacoma. This is a national (international!) convention with 60+ clinics, a contest, modular layout displays, vendor hall and layout tours to 35+ world-class, local narrow gauge (and standard gauge) layouts. Standard and narrow gauge modelers are both welcome! Registration is $150 for the complete convention (including a free spouse pass), or a special $50 day rate (available at the door). Early registration for the NMRA in Texas next year is $200 for non-members.

$150 seems reasonable for a multi-day event with the number of clinics and tours, and spouses can tag along.   YMMV.

But yes, adding in hotel, gas and food, it will put a dent in the hobby budget...

It’s cheaper than a new locomotive or 3-4 freight cars after shipping.

However, if you’re willing to get to the event, the cost of the event shouldn’t be a concern.
