So does anyone know if the FVM wheels were part of the deal, or did Matt keep those?   

For me personally, of all the excellent products that FVM made, these are the ones I most want to see return.

According to FVM's release they are keeping the N and HO parts under the new company, Scale America, so I would think that includes the wheels.

So Red Caboose and DI tooling go to Scale America, which sounds like it will be de-coupling from Intermountain.

FVM cars and engines stay at their manufacturing facility. No word yet on upgrades. I would think most cars would be listed as Operator due to their molded in details. Ride height can be addressed with a low bolster truck, along with body mounted couplers would bring these up to ST Operator standards. The FVM engines are in an odd position. The bodies are not quite up to the Rivet Counter standard: lacking some freestanding detail, especially around the trucks. They are better than Operator though. I think they will do a full chassis redesign to bring them up to spec.

So Scale America gets to keep the auto racks?

No, the wheels were always FVM-branded products so those would stay FVM-branded and released by ScaleTrains - although ST has not formally announced that they would be re-running the wheels.

The Scale America products would be parts from Des Plaines and Centralia Car Shops. Everything FVM/Matt G. acquired from other companies would go to Scale America.

Awhile ago I asked them when we could expect another run of Autoflood II’s, and they said when the original runs sells out. What concerns me about that is the HO version came out years before the N version did and there has still never been a second run.

Personally I’d love to se ST acquire the Arnold U25C and SW1. It’s a shame they were just a one and done. They’d fit nicely in the Rivet Counter line.

Thanks.  I agree that it would be nice to see some of the mothballed N scale tooling from several companies brought back into production.  Exactrail and Arnold (that High Hood mentioned) are couple of good examples.
