NEW INTERLOCKING TOWER AND ACCESSORY KIT

Ztrack and Archistories has teamed up to release a brick railroad interlocking tower kit. This dual purpose kit allows you to build the tower with two different configurations.

Brick towers such as these can be found across North America. They are used for switch control and to guard railroad crossings. The inspiration for the kit came from the ‘castle’ tower in Dunkirk, Ohio. This tower is located at the Dunkirk crossing where a north-south line intersects an east-west line. The tower represents a later version of the tower where the roof was removed and replaced with a flat roof.

The second version of the kit is inspired by the tower in Haley, Indiana. It has the more traditional roof with overhang. This look represents the towers as they were originally built.

The kit is manufactured from architectural cardstock. All parts come pre-colored so no painting is required.  Signage is part of the kit. Illustrated instructions are included. Dimensions: approx. 28×25×40 (L×W×H in mm without stairs).

Ztrack and Archistories also partnered with Z-Doktor in Germany to release a special tower upgrade kit. This kit includes two drain pipes (one for each roof configuration), a window air-conditioning unit and two railroad utility buildings. One is rust brown, the other is silver. The utility buildings were again inspired by those in Dunkirk. But they are common across North America.

The tower kit is item: 102221. These kits are available direct through Ztrack Center or through authorized Ztrack Distribution dealers.

The accessory kit is also available direct through Ztrack Center or our authorized dealers. The kit is item ZD-220-50002-5.

Those are beautifully mundane looking!!

I love them.

I wish I wasn't "behaving" in Z and had a spot for em.

That said, any chance of doing them in N? I know it's not your mission, but... it might make you a nice steak dinner.

Thanks Ed! No plans for N. I have a laundry list of Z scale kits that I would like to see produced. We really need more kits in Z. But if we did dip into N, the REA building and this tower would be on the list.

This kit was fun for me since I visited the real one in Dunkirk, OH on multiple occasions. Attached is an image of the T-Trak-Z module I have been working on to showcase this kit, and other products we offer. I have the dime in there for perspective. :)

I would second the motion for some kits like these (and the Z scale REA building) in N scale.

Well done, especially for accurate "average" windows- plain old ordinary double hung rectangular windows. So many of our buildings in scale modeling generally, and N in particular, have "fancy" windows more appropriate to colonial mansions than to the structures we all lived and worked in. Also kudos on the color choices and brick detail. Those could be dropped into any Midwestern layout and look like they belong there.

So, congrats on some nice looking buildings. My only complaint is they are one size too small for my N scale modeling.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Oh man, I have spent so much time cutting muntins out of N scale windows to "modernize" them.

Wow! Dunkirk tower! Fantastic!

Oh wait, not in N? Bugger! The Pensy guys will be so bummed.

Perhaps the tower got a new roof because of the derailment?
