Not quite as cool as the night shots, but a neat story.

While planning my weekend of meetings I mentioned "going to go see trains" and a coworker seemed interested. So, while we had an hour of downtime I told him "get in the Mustang, lets go".

And we did.

Since we were 10 minutes from Bensenville I started there. We did a little poking around but eventually came across this lashup.



I told him "Brad, for reasons I can't even begin to explain, this is one of the best railfanning catches you could think of."

A heritage unit and a warbonnet, together.

I told him "It's all down hill from here".

During a particularly grueling few weeks at the office, my wife suggested I "find a train ride somewhere this weekend". I was fortunate to get the last two tickets for the Everett Railroads' Easter Eggspress. The 15th arrived with clear skies and pleasant temperatures, which made for an enjoyable ride .  Nope, no candy for us adults but it was fun watching the little ones. Not to mention the detail photos I took for future use in modeling the Bath & Hammondsport # 11...

















After leaving the station, we drove up to Chimney Rock for an overview of the valley and the Hollidaysburg station below:
