Latest run of Bluford Cabooses is out

I just grabbed my pair of Conrail ones, so now I'll share the heads up  :D

https://www.modeltrainstuff.com/search?search_query_adv#/filter:custom_scale:N/sort:sortable_date_created:desc/filter:custom_scale:Multi/filter:custom_scale:Z/perpage:90/filter:brand:Bluford$2520Shops

I was tempted by the D&H cars, but from what I've seen those cars had white lettering instead of the yellow in the eras I'm interested in.

Link doesn't yield a product.  I was able to find a bunch of Bluford cabooses by doing a fresh search however.

I received my two Conrail cabs from N Scale Supply this past Saturday.  Which did you pick up, the N7D or the N12?  I went with the N12 as those were acquired by the Penn Central in 1970 (IIRC) from ICC and are pretty much spot on.  Perhaps in a few releases we will see the N7E (as in The CRHS’s 21165) make an appearance.  These would also be spot on ex EL cab’s acquired from ICC.

I picked up one Conrail N12 to go with my one Conrail N21.

I grabbed one of each of the Conrail cars.

I'm not a huge fan of the oddball schemes, but it is kinda hot.

I was asking about him doing the 165 and was basically told it's in the plans. I'll be thrilled when that happens. I might have to get two: one for layout use and one to weather up as the pre-restoration CRHS era 21165.

Did they come with metal wheels?

Yep!

Also a note on that: one of the wonderful things about these cars is that they have plenty of clearance around the axle for resistors on all four.
Sometimes it's tough on the ones nearest the couplers, but these had no such issues.

This KCS hack showed up late last week. Checking it against the prototype photos it’s quite spot on.

Damn it Ed, I couldn't get the N12 in time. It's kind of an oddball scheme though - blue stairs?

I did end up getting that N7 though. Pure EL hotness.

Aren't the white porches and stairs of the N7 also an oddball scheme?  I got one of the last N12s, passed on the N7s.

Very oddball, but I personally like them. Also they were in stock so I picked it up.
Seeing as I have 30+ cabooses for a late 90's railroad, I don't need any more.

They are mostly for display at this point. Right along with my high speed trains of the world collection.
