Hopefully the All Day Railfanning Playlist has not offended your sensibilities too thoroughly.

Haha, you’re perfect alright, Ed. Depending on how the mood hits me during the day, I can be jamming to Waylon Jennings or the Notorious B.I.G. The only things my ears rebel against is K-pop and Phish.

Ahh so you haven't quite experienced my preffered flavor of emo J-pop I see.

Drift aside. Amazing layout concept, especially after seeing it in person.

MOAR from this weekend. Seriously, I don't know if people really appreciate how great this layout is.

Spent some time in Photoshop today.

I think this might end up getting printed and framed.

Brought the doughnut back down to Ohio N Scale Weekend over these past few days and had a tremendous amount of fun and good times!

Before I brought the layout down, something I knew was going to happen eventually did. The bracket mast signal on the edge was nudged during an apartment move, and while the structure itself was not damaged, several of the signal heads and wires popped off. So to save myself from the future frustration of damaging it, I made it removable. I found a DCC 6-pin connector that powers the five red lights and the three color aspects of the top right signal. An Evergreen 3/8" tube with a sheet on top provides protection for the wires and resistors, while a 1/2" tube in the layout helps add rigidity, but is not so snug that the signal won't move if someone grazes it.

I'll set up signals like this on my Lake Shore Central Free-moN layout, mainly because constantly resoldering magnet wire isn't what I got in this hobby for, and the NJ International crossing flashers are becoming harder and harder to come by.

I did have a few guests come by and run trains. @SAH brought a sharp AC&Y consist and a few other people waiting to go on the Free-moN layout ran a few laps, so if you saw this NYC GP40 or a modern Wheeling engine pass Hiles tower this weekend, that would be why.

One last thing, since I was lucky enough to see Doyle McCormack's Nickel Plate 190 come through Cleveland last week, I got off my duff and installed DCC into a Life Like PA. Alco might not have had a big-name industrial designer, but they sure knew how to streamline.

I spent most of Saturday hangin' with Brian and "the donut" (I think it has reached legend status) at the Ohio NSW.  Lots of good modeling to see, people to meet and stuff to buy.  A very relaxing, enjoyable day.  I'm seriously considering building a FreeMoN module to dig into the fun a bit deeper.

I brought what might be called a AC&Y greatest hits kind of consist to run through New London, OH.  Here's the rear end passing Hiles Tower.
