Hello, going thru some boxes and came upon this item. It’s n scale and havnt got the slightest idea what it is. On the circuit board on top it says USA on it it o other markings. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Looks like an old Arnold GG-1 to me.

It does look like Arnold rapido GG1, but I'm puzzled by the "USA" on the the circuit board.  These were made in West Germany.

I wonder if the "USA" means designed for the USA market, as opposed to the European market, for noise supression.

Yes it does look like the GG1 I didn’t even think of that. I was thinking EM3 but that is 4-6-2 2-6-4 configuration. But I think you nailed it. Thanks to all that replied.
