Oh yes!  :D

RTTX Channel Sided Flats have been on my Intermodal wish list for about a decade.

Thanks for the early heads-up on these!

No PDF announcement?  An hour-long video seems excessive.

Agreed. They'll probably post them next week. https://www.athearn.com/Articles/Hobbywire.aspx

RTTX in 'TT' and TTX.  Cool.
I'm just hopeful the hitch configurations actually match RTTX.  It didn't look like it in the artwork.

I didn’t realize that Athearn only has released the N scale F89F as auto racks and not TOFCs.

This would be the third or fourth run of the F89-F as TOFC.  They even did a Long Tunner version in Trailer Train yellow, still at MBK last I looked.  Nice cars.

I am waiting for Athearn to release the Long Runners with the 1990s TTX lettering rather than the 1987 (original) TT lettering.  At least that is what the artwork indicates.  And, since the original TT lettering was rather short lived, that could be why MBK still has a lot of the Long Runners in stock.   :?

Thankfully, the RTTX cars will be available with both the original TT lettering and the 1990s TTX lettering.

I'm in love with those PC trailers. Which is weird, because I'm a modern western modeler. But there they'll be, riding on the BLMA 53' spine cars, surrounded by 53' trailers, all pulled by the most modern GE locomotives. (And maybe the NS heritage PC loco, to tie it all together!)

PDF and website will be updated next week.  I think they mentioned the holiday and unexpected website issues/maintenance did not allow them to update yet

PC trailers were common on the Super C, so you just need to extend your era back a bit.

Non sequitor, but I'd buy TTWX, WTTX and KTTX in these F89Fs or in the Atla/BLMA F89J or in the Atlas or MT 89footers.  So annoying how TOFC are rarely offered in anything but double 40ft configs.

Announced October 2020: http://www.athearn.com/newsletter/103020/10_N_F89_Flat_103020.pdf

Are these the same flats?

https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=50825.0

Going further back to 2016: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=40536.msg501490#msg501490

The PDF from that thread: https://www.athearn.com/newsletter/112516/12_N-scale_89ft_BSC_TOFC_Flat_112516.pdf

The pervious runs were all circus style loading with fold down ramps. The vast majority of these cars were rebuilt in the 1990's to the RTTX standard which allowed "Twin 45 / Triple 28" loading. These lacked end ramps and featured two hitch pedestals at the ends, KTTX style and a collapsible center hitch for running pups.

I have plenty of BLMA, and Atlas 89' flats in RTTX and rebuilt half a dozen MTL flats to the same standard. But only Athearn made the channel side TOFC, so it's really good news for modern modelers.

Ah, I get it. Modern RTTX - the rebuilds actually started in the 1980s though (1985+) IIRC.
