It gets old. Like in the 1:350 ship model world. How many versions of the Iowa class battleship and USS Enterprise or battleship Yamato do we need. Yes each one seems to be better then the last but give it a break. We'd like something new, anything as long as it's different. Btw, between Riverossi, concor and Athearn I have five big boys. I don't need another.

. . .  or F-units, or GG1s, or . . .

Well, if it’s the Space Battleship Yamato, there will never enough models.  :)

I’m pretty sure I’ve been waiting since 2014 for Intermountain’s new FT run. Maybe we need someone new to step in at this point.

Yeah, I get that the Big Boy is an iconic locomotive and all, but I really wish we could see some USRA designs that ran on multiple roads.  Like their Mikado.  An 0-6-0 or an 0-8-0 would be ideal.

Even a re-run of the 0-8-0 that walthers ran about 15 years ago, with some modernizations and improvements would be nice.

The tooling was either lost or destroyed. Per Atlas when they purchased Walthers loco line.

Unless you model Sante Fe
Which at this point is complete bullsh!t. It baffles me honestly that nobody has brought out a 3751 class Santa Fe 4-8-4. Ill probably never see a factory built 3800 class 2-10-2 but no Santa fe steam whatsoever?

Here we go again.  I wonder what Broadway Limited marketing people were thinking?  Or not thinking.   They could have at least decorated the Big Boy in a fantasy Santa Fe scheme, right?  Make it into ATSF 4-16-4 loco. ;)  After all they  are doing fantasy schemes on that Pennsy electric.

Just pulling your leg Drasko - relax.

The funny thing is I had you in mind when I made that comment. TBH I wish someone (not bBachmann) would produce some SF steam. Lionel just released a 2-10-10-2, if that can sell, so can all of SF's engines.

I knew you were. I'm trying to be the Santa fe version of the SPFs. It at least got them a K4 and now 18 other steamers right?
Im just not sure what the market for Santa fe steam is anymore. Im sure a big 2900 class or the 3751 and they may lead into other models.

If a company produced the Big Boy in every road with the correct font it would create a collectors feeding frenzy causing calluses on the fingers of that company accountant pounding away at his adding machine . Same for any other big buck monster of the rails  . As utters have said , " if that gives us what we want prototype wise , it would be a wise tact for boat of us to applaud .
