N scale steam and boxcab head lights and rear lights ?

The Bachmann 4-6-0 has a decent bottom periscope fed one , but you need to buy the shell for more money than you want to shell out for one .

We need a choice of bottom fed and rear fed light guide and or prewired chip lights .

Has anybody tried modifying HO ditch lights for n scale steam or boxcab head and rear lights ?

You can buy prewired SMD 0402 warm white LEDs on eBay (footprint 0.040" x 0.020") on eBay, and prewired SMD 0201 LEDs (footprint 0.020" x 0.010" - smallest available) are also available.  Those should be plenty small for what you need. The SMD 0402 LEDs have been available prewired for several years.

No need for cumbersome "periscope" ligth conduits. Here is a 0402 LED in  a headlight housings of a N scale PRR H-10 loco.

You're welcome. If you go to eBay and search for "0402 warm white pre wired led" (no quotes), you'll see several sources.  Same with 0201 (but those a bit pricier).  Just look for "0201 warm white pre wired led".
