No. it's not, and I prefer paper.  But it isn't a bad product, and certainly takes up less room for storage.  All of their online issues are still available, if you want to read them, They're standard Adobe PDF files, no special software needed.

It says to "click on the cover image, then save the file", but, in Firefox, I right-click, and go straight to "save link as".

They didn't fold - they are around as  a free online magazine.  I know, it is not the same as paper.

Kirk Reddy, Publisher.  He quit and left many of us with owed back subscriptions that were paid.  Really liked his magazine but must have gotten tired of getting the mag ready every 2 months.

I agree, but in looking at the "Current Back Issue" page I'm assuming he has far too many printed copies still in stock to offer a digital version.  Sure, some people would prefer printed over digital, but I bet it would kill any remaining demand for the back issues.

Except that since the printed version stopped, every digital issue but two have been a monthly issue.  He just doesn't have to deal with printers, paper shortages, and the USPS any more.

And it is free to the readers, presented in a portable format. This cannot be said for most other digital publications. Not sure how he makes profit, but more power to him.

You do have point. I guess the printing and mailing costs are also eliminated,so more ad revenue can go into paying expenses and profits.

As far as I know he quit paying people for contributing articles as well. They used to pay $100 per page. Developing an article is a ton of work and I have two that I could  submit but not for free. I’d rather post them here.
I had a two year subscription about 4 months used when he went digital. I haven’t bothered to look at a single issue since.

I just today (7 March 2022) received a check for $15.00 from North American N Scale General.

I had kinda given up on a refund.

He is no longer paying the authors, but the flip side is that if you want to write a long article about something that is too long to get into a magazine with a print page limit, if its good there is a decent chance Kirk will take it.
