I corresponded more with the BLI rep today.... He said in terms of releases for PRR steam, BLI will be releasing the following locomotives, probably in this order:

H10
J1
I1

In terms of the I1, he said it is in the design phase and will probably be released in 2024.

And that's all in N scale?  Impressive!

Yep, that's all in N scale, according to the rep.

H10
J1
I1

The good news for the rest of us is that after BLI bankrupts all the SPFs, they will have to produce steamers for the rest of us to stay in business....

One point of clarification - the rep said they had other steam releases planned in that timeframe for roads other than PRR.... I just listed the PRR releases.

The rep didn't specify the other releases.

Hopefully they have a Reading T1 on the list.  I have been working on Ken for a few years for this one.

Yeah. I've got a bunch of C&O things I want to build.  I have Kato Mikados accumulated for either conversion to I1sa Hippos or C&O K2/K3.  Hopefully the BLI I1sa beats me to the punch (probably, I'm terribly slow).

PRR J1 - 2-10-4 with 69 inch drivers!! sigh :D :D
I guess that's the mechanism for The Madam Queen sorted. Pity I've already started making one. Next they'll really make my day and announce a ATSF Texas Type followed by a 2-10-2. At least you guys will get a good 2-10-0 (I1) so you  don't have to alter Kato Mikados! :D Even though I don't model the PRR, I think Mr Wallet is going to take a beating...  :D :D :o :o

I want the H10.

Since I actually model the LIRR H10, L1, G5, E6 are my wants.

The Pennsy J1 was essentially a copy of the C&O T1, so you've got to figure that once the mechanism is done, slapping on a C&O shell won't be a big deal.  Actually, all you'd really have to do is move the headlight position; the rest of the engine is pretty much identical since the War Production Board wouldn't give the Pennsy permission to build a "new" locomotive.  So they copied the T1.

And yeah, the mechanism should do nicely for the Madame Queen.  The driver size (69") and driver wheelbase are almost identical.

The NKP didn't have any 2-10-4's, but I'm sure I can find an excuse for a visit from some C&O T1's.  And somewhere I have a photo of an ATSF 2-10-4 on Pennsy rails in Bellevue, with the NKP tracks right next door.

I have a video of that somewhere. PRR leased a bunch of the ATSF during a power shortage. They lasted about a year I think.

Hmm, idle thoughts of a CPR Selkirk (2-10-4), but the J1 is a considerably bigger locomotive. 69” vs. 63” drivers for starters...
