No mention of the RS10/RS18s?

RS18 in HO scale.  Was there an N Scale?

Models in this acquisition include in HO scale the C-Liner and RS18 Locomotives

Did True-Line's HO FMs include the five axle C-Liner?  If so, it could be scaled down to N.  This would answer the requests of many who have tried to adapt various chassis to the old RR shell.  Further, Atlas might actually issue it in roads that actually had that model as opposed to RR's issuing it only in roads that never had it.

While I do understand that Atlas did sell it, at one point, Atlas had to take what RR offered.

I’m confused. I thought Atlas had N scale GP9’s...or were those just GP7’s?

Yes Atlas has N scale GP9 and 7 models.

The TLT models (Sold under Hobbycraft / Lifelike Canada) were based on CP and CN chop nose rebuilds, and used the Lifelike GP20 mechanism...

I get less excited about Atlas aquiring anybody's line lately. Sure, long dead items will become available again, but at much greater prices. C424s with sound, Great. $ 200 - 150 a pop, not good.

Yes, TLT did release the RS-10 and high-nose RS-18 in N scale. The Spookshow website says they were only released in 2006, and that TLT used Atlas RS-11 mechanisms. Why they weren't included in the sale is a bit puzzling to me, but Spookshow also says Atlas already bought the tooling in 2019, so now I'm even puzzled-er.  :? I'll have to look for the initial L-L/Walthers tooling acquisition announcement.

I am curious as to what specific prototype that TLT had utilized for the GP9 Chop Nose locomotive?  I am looking around and see that there were rebuilds designated GP9R, GP9RM, and GP9u.  Then my brain went into overload because I found an article talking about the similarities and differences between a GP9 Chop Nose and a GP10.  I wonder if Atlas will either adjust the tooling to reflect one specific model or if this will be a model that can fit the overall needs of a GP9 Chop Nose, a GP10, and a GP18 Low Nose?  Either way I'm game for one along with the C424 for either the DH or ME.

They only shared trucks and a motor. The frame, fuel tank, and PC boards are different.

Don't they offer 3 levels of most stuff?

What do you suppose a new loco model, with (guesses) $100K in tooling costs vs. buying old tooling at a 50% discount? To me, its a shrewd strategy to offer much wanted loco models and hold prices as low as possible (obviously, we all want the most for the least, its human nature.)  I wonder if it was influenced by IM stalling on their GP 10?  Jump in first, as it were.  As to the C424, it is sort of a cult loco, IMHO, that should do well.  I hope!

Way to find a dark cloud in a silver lining, LOL.

Plus, I'd rather have $200 C424s than no C424s.
