Over the last few weeks I've been weathering a Bluford Shops N scale
auto parts double door box car.

- Pale yellow oil wash
- Stippled near oil paint in the door and end walkways
- AK winter streaking grime for the roof and sides
- Brown powders for the solebar
- Black oils for the door lock grease

After several months of fabricating parts, my six Van Iron chip cars are now assembled and ready for detailing:

Another of the projects I worked on during our strict lockdown was a rebuild of my CP Rail C-424 originally built when the Hobbycraft C-424 models first came out.  Replaced the cab and short hood with Atlas C-628 parts.  More C-628 parts replaced the exhaust stack and radiator.  The dynamic brake hatch was replaced by an Atlas C-420 unit.  I reshaped the long hood end which was too square and added some other bits and bobs.  It will become ESR 4204 as it was when on the Morristown & Erie.  Looks a lot better.

Cheers

I spent wwaaaayyyyyy too long on a video explaining how engine servicing is simulated on the C&W. [There are a few shots of the servicing facilities in use so it isn't all me droning on about boring ops stuff]

I am very much looking fwd to getting back to modelling!  [I have started to assemble two small, laser-scratch brick buildings for the yard.]

Have a great weekend!

The floor is pretty new. I have insisted on scrubbing up oil. I tried a bunch of commercial floor cleaners and degreasers but the cleanest spots are where I used Dawn dishsoap !

I designed some shirts (and other stuff, like notebooks).

Check it out: https://edk.threadless.com/

Here's a goodun: https://edk.threadless.com/designs/dark-wizard-of-the-woods/mens/t-shirt/regular?color=clover

Or perhaps you'd like a Pennsy JFRTM throw pillow, it's also an option:

JFRTM means what please ? Is this a fund for DKS ?

And no.

But it wasn't for the lack of trying.

That said, as much as I want to put the proceeds from the store into my bourbon and gin fund, I think it'll be way better to put it to some better use, but that's still TBD.

Although, it is tempting to use the proceeds to get a JFRTM tattoo.

Retrofitted some LGB catenary parts to a HLW Mack in order to make a cheaper electric that I can test some catenary theories on. Unfortunately HLW has just gone out of business. Hopefully somebody will pick up their line, they have some great models like the Mack.
