No, I think the perfect blend of time, cost, and effort would be etched nickel silver sides, raised window gaskets, and paint scrapped off the gaskets after painting.  Doable for the hobbyist, and cost effective.

Correct, but if raised offers the cleanest look for silver frames.  Here's an example of scraping paint from raised gaskets:

Thanks!I see what you did there!  I would have suggested injection molding, but I suspect that method is a bit outside of your hobby budget.    I merely offered my observation.  That's what online forums are for, right?

All those injection molded passenger car sides from Des Plaines, and even ESM, were brass molds cut on Sherline CNC equipment in someone's garage.  It actually is pretty approachable if you want to head that route.  Now if I just get the spindle working on the new Masso controller...
