N scale RS27 and RS36 body kits are now available. Price is $110 Canadian plus shipping.

Below is a sample photo of an RS27 and RS-36 high nose. We can do several versions of each body type so we can include the differences with the plastic parts as there are numerous detail variations from model to model. Please specifiy what road, versions and how many you are interested in.

This N scale kit comes with a comprehensive etched Nickel Silver sheet that has handrails, grab irons, windshield wipers, screens, and many other small details. The main plastic components in the kit are printed in ABS like grey material. The model is made to fit to the Atlas RS11 chassis, which is not included.

Please contact Chris at chrisd@briggsmanufacturingassociates.ca to order.

I saw these in person last weekend and the prints are very good.  printing the carbodies with decks integrated provides a lot of structural integrity and helps to prevent warpage.  The tread plate on the deck printed quite well I thought.

Hi Folks

My apologies for any emails that were not returned by Jeff. I think this has been an extraordinarily bad year for him but I won't go into excuses.

I only do the promotion and some marketing for Jeff. I am 500 miles away from him so I don't know what his communication, shipping and production schedules look like. I too am a modeler and would be extremely POed with lack of communication and delivery on some of the kits. In fact, I have forfeited my kits until all production and shipping has been completed of everything that Jeff has taken money for to this point.

I can assure you that Jeff will follow though and get you your kits. I will see to it. There has just been some really bad luck (on top of COVID) for both of us this year and I am only now getting back into the hobby and keeping up with the forums.

If I can be of assistance in Jeff getting back to you please feel free to email me at chrisd@briggsmanufacturingassociates.com and I will get you an answer as fast as Jeff gets back to me. I know he is driving long haul truck at the moment so it is often days before he gets back to me. I am off for the holidays from my full time job and have some time to forward emails and make contact with him.

Kind regards and happy holidays,

Chris

@BCOL 747

Chris - I'm still patiently waiting.  It's been a nutso year for all of us.  You've responded to my inquiries a couple of times, and provided information about some (but I'm sure not all) of the problems that have cropped up with production.  I appreciate the communication.

Regards,
George

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

IS the RS27 made for the RS11 drive as well?  And does it matter which version of the drive?  I have three older Chinese RS11s that would make fine donors, if they'll work.

Sirenwerks

It was not tested on the older versions of the RS11 (Kato). You may be able to get it to fit with a little grinding of the chassis. It should fit any Atlas DCC ready RS-11 loco. Not sure it they have changed their design since these became DCC ready.

If you want to order some please shoot me an email so I can make sure we have enough etched frets in stock/on the way.

Hope that helps.

Chris

You'd want to avoid the Kato ones, if for no other reason the truck centers are incorrect for RS11 and RS11 derivatives.

I am interested in grabbing two of these, but I don't see a GBW version, with the split windshield mod, on the website.  Is there one?

I am sure we did a GBW version. We just transferred over our catalogue to the new website. I wonder if this got missed. I will speak to Jeff and ask him to put it back up. I will shoot you a PM when its up.

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

Did you ever find out?  There is a C&NW unit listed the new Briggs site, but it has sparse photo documentation of the products to know whether the model is a split window or cyclops unit, as the C&NW had both.  I have to say, in this day of internet-dependence, the no photo thing is a major detractor to buying products.  Maybe Briggs sales are weighted towards another marketing channel, and the web is secondary, but I have never seen Briggs products outside of the interweb and don't know what most of the products are like without pics.

Finally went to put my kit together. Briggs forgot to include the fret with the fuel tank and locomotive pilots. Ugh…

Jeff's website says he's still around for product support, get in touch and see if he can sort that out for you
