Atlas’ former Walthers rolling stock

If anyone is interested in replacing their old Walthers cardboard packaging with a new jewel case, Atlas might consider offering the jewel cases separately if they receive enough requests, I know MicroTrains periodically offers their jewel cases separately, so, hopefully Atlas will too.

Atlas has contact info on their webpage.
I’m not here to argue

A more difficult task for Atlas than Micro-Trains though, as Atlas is importing the components while MTL manufacturers them on-site.

In either case, does the "jewel case" (who ever came up with that to describe "small cheap plastic box" in the first place, anyway?) include the plastic insert "cradles" to hold the particular cars?  That seems much more important in terms of storing the cars than whether one uses a "genuine" Atlas jewel case or a "genuine" Micro-trains jewel case- given that I would assume both buy their jewel cases from one of the several manufacturers of clear plastic boxes.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

MicroTrains offers the inserts, and I agree, the inserts would be important in the request, if one were to contact Atlas.

I did include a request for inserts when I contacted Atlas.

Empty jewel cases do tend to move well on eBay, particularly Kato and Atlas.
