Those side dump cars must be popular...

And everything in N scale October Arrivals is marked Sold Out...

Walthers: "N scale doesnt sell enough to justify production... "

Atlas:   :RUEffinKiddingMe:

With all the ex Walthers runs..  I'd be curious if Atlas could throw out a note when they have 'recouped' the cost of the Walthers N tooling..

A modern, composite material, sandwich-sided design reefer is a nice (and needed addition) to the N scale intermodal fleet. Thanks Atlas!

I see some period-relevant goodness in there.

The PC tank car - is that scheme for real?

Agreed, I see some Rock Island and SP
U-boats in my future.

Closer to reality then I would have thought... Fictional number and different car but definitely close...

Anyone know the story behind it? Was it a revenue car?

If it weren’t for the Walthers products would Atlas even be in the N scale rolling stock business. Seems like that is all they have brought to market lately.

You mean apart from the commuter series?

Atlas has also pretty publicly said the Walthers tooling was in a different factory and it was going to help them through the AFFA situation - you know, the same one still crippling many of their competitors...

Except for the things you missed, like the commuter series...which was recently brought to market.

The ALPs and commuter cars were also at a different factory than the AFFA one

Atlas really bought the tooling at a good time. There certainly has been some teething issues - some of the cars certainly are not "Master Line" worthy and do not deserve the "Master Line" price. The PS-2 4427 hopper, ballast hopper, NACC RBL, SEICO pulp cars, and ICC caboose are not great as built. The ballast hopper has awful end bracing - up to scale 12" thick. The ICC cab has an X bracing roof instead of the correct diagonal panels (also could really use the end handrails from the wide vision caboose). The NACC car has some rivets that are literally scale 6" LONG! The coil car covers are about a foot too tall and do not have handrails, a very visible feature. Yeah these are legacy cars, but Atlas moved their legacy equipment to the Trainman line. I just want to see some consistency.

I'm on the fence about the GSC and Russell plow, both had some updates on their tooling done since originally introduced. The Greenville hopper and DIFCO side dump are both pretty nice.

But ALL these cars could really use body mounted couplers and metal wheelsets. These sit next to former BLMA cars with the same price points. They should either be priced accordingly, or updates to match current standards.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Not much in there that peaked my interest this month. The 60E's will be nice. Have the Vterans and 9-1-1 unit on order.

I just hope the 25k Tank Cars are gonna show before too long. Have a few Golden peanut ones ordered.

It’s not my fault they continue to announce things faster than they can bring them to market. If it weren’t for the Walthers purchase they would be a niche player.
