I'm new here. I'm a member of a number of Facebook groups, but have been looking for regular model railroad forums, and my older son, also a modeler, sent me this way.
My layout is the "Delta Division of the Southern Pacific." Hey, go big or go home. This is as I see things along the Louisiana Gulf Coast, which means, no mountains, no tunnels, no trestles. It's flat as a pancake here and our foliage grows like crazy with 100"+ of rain every year. Industries are petroleum, plastics, rice, soybeans, and like everywhere else now, lots of intermodal traffic.
This layout is HO scale, in a 15' x 11' room, which doubles as my home office. Started in 2012, I now have up to where I can have visiting engineers in to operate.
It is a DCC system using the NCE Powerhouse Pro 5 amp command station. Track is mostly Atlas, with a few other asst switches. Locos are mostly Kato and Atlas.
I've crammed a lot into a small space, and made a lot of use of my "Modeler's License". Layout video by Art Houston of "A Grande Pacific Production" fame.
