May 10, 2019 is the 150th anniversary of completion of the United States' first Transcontinental Railroad, which linked the Central Pacific Railroad Company and the Union Pacific Railroad.
This significant achievement was celebrated with Amasa Leland Stanford driving the last ceremonial 17.6-karat golden spike at Promontory Summit, Utah Territory on May 10, 1869.
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike Ceremony, Bachmann is releasing an
HO Scale Limited Edition Transcontinental Train Set (item number 00827) with digital sound.
Although similar non-DCC equipped and/or ready locomotives are offered by the firm, there was no announcement of an N Scale commemorative release.
