Sargent Stripes

I received my GP40-2LW from Briggs yesterday and it looks like it will be a fun build. I spent a few hours detaching posts from the sprues, managing to break a pilot step and foot board in the process. The plastic is more durable than FUD, but still brittle. Even with sprue cutting tweezers, the parts are very difficult to remove from the carrier.

This model will be based on a CN model in Sargent Stripes... The decals of which I've had for a decade. What do you CN modelers do to keep the large decal straight, especially over the blower duct? Slicing the decal is an option, but wouldn't that warp over the duct?
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away
