RS-2
45' Logging Car
89' Flat
60' Auto parts box

Anyone looking at the CGW RS-2s, only #52 is correct in that paint.

Ooo, the log cars are back. But were the Milwaukee cars in interchange service?

I don't know if they were actually used in interchange, but I doubt that they got very far from Tacoma.  Most railroad-owned log cars tended to stay pretty close to home rails.

If your railroad is in western Washington, especially if it interchanges with the MILW, it would be possible.  They did meet interchange standards.

Walthers already released roadnumber 8209 (along with 8213) in the NYC lightning stripe scheme.

Kato released roadnumbers 8213 and 8219 in the NYC lightning stripe scheme on its RS-2 model.

Also, units with roadnumbers 8209-8222 were originally equipped with steam generators.
Atlas is planning to make 8205, so maybe two other roadnumbers from 8200 to 8208 would be more appropriate choices than 8209 and 8210.

Anyone know if the flat is the ex BLMA ACF F89 or the flush side ACF? If it is the later, have they fixed the coupler shank lengh and wheel clearance issues?

Nice to see the RS2.

It's the Atlas flat, not the ex-BLMA F89-J.

I'm modeling the OE. So if they could make it to Vancouver and over the stream to any of the mills down around Albany, Eugene, Sweet Home... I'll be making an Atlas purchase of a couple cars.

@Atlas Paul

Any word on upgrades to the ACF flat? I would love to get my hands on longer shank Accumates if Atlas updated them for this. Right now I have a dozen using Bachmann medium shank EZ Mates as it is the only coupler with a longer shank that fits the coupler box.

None went that direction.
These cars were used exclusively in Washington and later Idaho.
They were built to satisfy the needs of the WAM (Weyerhaeuser and Milwaukee) trains running around Chehalis, Morton, Olympia, Tacoma, and St. Maries. Idaho area

I'm glad I picked up 12 of the log cars when they were closer to $10.

A couple things of interest but I am so tired of seeing new atlas announcements and no products ever getting delivered. It is such a trickle that it is a bore. I don’t mind preorders, but when it is years to get a product I am not interested. They aren’t as bad as intermountain but that isn’t saying much. 12-15 months seems to be the norm now. I used to have an elaborate spreadsheet to track all of my preorders. I am now down to two small releases, one from Athearn which will arrive in a couple of months. The other is the Trainworx flats and trailers, who knows when those will show up if ever.

They do not. No pinion holes for on the lid and box. They are also metal and too close to the deck to be modified. It is REALLY frustrating.
