Here's me thinking the C&EI BL2 I've always wanted would be top of the list!

Seriously, can I suggest a passenger RS3 with a steam generator stack on the short hood ?

Gerry
Now that you mention that, does anyone make steam generator parts for RS units?  I have a couple RS-1s to detail.  No problem finding parts for F units, or GP-7 -9, but striking out on SG for RS-1s or BL-2s (both of which had a stack)

Speaking of the old E units, I wonder if Atlas will tool the E6/7 with F unit style number boards? Or for that matter, a correct E7B?
I thought it was the other way around, the B unit is correct for an E7B, but wrong for an E6B.  Feel free to tell me that's wrong, since I have an E6 AB set, and would be happier to have a correct B.

Somewhat related to all this, what was the latest diesel loco Atlas released with sound and DCC? I'd like to know from people who bought them what the sound quality's like and is there a keep-alive on these units?

J'n'J Trains used to make the RS-3/RS-1 angled up against the cab escape stack and flat vent stack.  For the RS-1, you must cut an opening in the cab roof.  As J'n'J Trains has been out of business for some time, you must look at shows and hobby store NOS.  If I see then at shows, I pick up a few.  If you want the "stovepipe" escape stack, which was at the end of the short hood, you must fashion it yourself.  NYCS, D&H and CNW, to name  a few, used that one on some RS/RSD units. NYCS used the "stovepipe" escape stack only on its RS-3s; the passenger  RS-1s and -2s used the angled escape stack.  The "hammerheads" had their own type of steam generator stack arrangement, which was similar to that on passenger RS-11s.  You must fashion that one, yourself.  Someone on Shapeways does sell the "hammerhead" short hood, which has the s/g vents on it.  For the RS-11, you must fashion it yourself.  The "hammerhead" stacks, of course, would interest only WM, PRR and LV modellers.

I used one of the J'n J cast metal ones on my B&M RS-3, but they are long out of production.  I remember someone here on TRW ( @Chris333 ?) mentioning that these are available from Shapeways, but they could also be scratchbuilt easily.  If you do a forum search for "steam generator", you should be able to find more info.
