hi all...

a friend of mine at the Revelstoke railway museum is inheriting a diorama of "Glacier House" from the old CPR mainline.

he is looking for a source of painted figs from the 1880-1910 era.

any ideas anyone?

Took me a couple minutes to realize you were referring to "figures," rather than the plant.

I'm obviously no help. But cool acquisition for your friend.

@David K. Smith probably knows of a few sources and likely has some he'd be willing to sell.

Heinz 57 varieties!

Yeah, like VonRyan said, DKS' figs  :) database is pretty complete, and you should be able to peruse it and find something appropriate. I'm pretty Sure that Preiser made a series of early 20th Centure figures.

I bet DKS' grade school report cards always had "Capable of rapid, extensive learning" selected.

Preiser does indeed make several sets of 1900s figures. Unfortunately, they're OOP; fortunately, you can still find them on the 'Bay.

I have some, as yet untouched, very good quality.

Check Shapeways too, and don't be afraid to ask a producer who makes them in a larger scale to do them in whatever scale you need.

BTW, my thoughts went right to the fig tree we planted in the backyard last summer.

I agree that "figs" was not the best word choice here.

Figs can play Euchre?  I will keep that in mind the next time we are looking for a 4th.

Try Thoroughbred Figures:
http://thoroughbredmodels.com/EagleTens.htm

They are mostly wargaming models, but have N scale civilians for late 19th century.  Figures are pretty good, I have some.  The owner, Toby Barrett, was very helpful.
I didn’t see this mfgr. on DKS’s list.
