Laser cut deck for Athearn 53' GSC flat

Does anyone currently make a laser cut wood deck for the Athearn GSC flats?

I saw a post from a few years ago where Bryan Bussey had done a special run of them. And my google fu has found some old sets, but not many left available for purchase.

I’d be in for a couple. I have a car to do and the alternative for me is hand laying a wood deck.

Probably need a minimum order of 50 to get them redone. If that threshold can be reached, I would be open to having ESM commission a rerun.

Do you know a rough guess as to what the cost will be?

Last time the selling price was $3.25, but that was eight years ago.  I would have to locate the digital artwork if the contractor no longer has a copy and re-submit it for quote.  I assume it would be within $1 of the original price, but I wouldn't know until the quote comes back.

I just checked — the original run was 150 pieces.  So 50 pieces would have a higher setup cost per, and it's eight years later.  Would have to get a quote before committing to a sale price.

This is where I am too. I bought a couple in the first run and really like them. But I don’t have anymore just plain flats to deck.

Yes, they will work.  You would have to remove the deck planks that interfere with the bulkheads.

It appears there may be enough interest to drive the quantity past 50. I will post a commitment request on the Products forum this week to get an official count. I contacted the contractor, they will check after the holidays to see if they still have the production-version digital file. I have a copy of the original digital file in project archives. I may still have the final production version, which I would have received to approve the first time around, but I would have to hunt for it.
