Southern Tuxedos

I’ve heard the Tuxedo scheme referred to as black. I never thought it was black. Looks like a dark, dark, green/black.

Anyone know of a good color  match?

I always thought the Southern tuxedo scheme was black and aluminum with gold striping/lettering.  What you’ve described reminds me of PRR’s DGLE and not a Southern Ry. color.

The NMRA has an EMD paint and styling sheet for the SD-24 which lists the color as "Black Duco" and a GP sheet that list "Black acrylic".

It simply doesn’t look black to me......the trucks and fuel tanks are black. Car body is definitely not black....

You're trusting the model?  No, no, no.  Look to the prototype.  Not green-black.

Maybe they decided to apply the "scale effect" to slightly lighten the paint on a small-scale model?

Its black. Black black black! The stripe is imitation aluminum but once in service it looks off white. The black starts looking charcoal when dirty. But they are black.

Isn't imitation aluminum (non-metallic) paint light gray by design?  Just like Dulux (imitation) gold is a non-metallic orange/yellow paint.
