Hogtrainz/BLW cancelled reservations for the gasoline tanker

I got a note from BLW/Hogtrainz that Trainworx won't be producing anything for the rest of this year. Hogtrainz cancelled my pre-order because of that.

That's not saying the run is cancelled, but Hogtrainz cancelled your pre-order as Trainworx is one of the manufacturers that was hit but the closing of the factory in China. I'm sure like every other manufacturer that was hit by that incident, every thing announced is in limbo until everything is found a new home.

I think the main reason for cancelling the reservations was that no one knows if pricing will be the same if/when the items get shifted to a new mfr.

My train hobby spending has all but stopped.  My layout is total limbo since I relocated a major section of table to redo my entire mainline. 90% of the wiring went through that table so I now have no power and need to design a new way to mount the control panel. All of my free time seems to spent at the gun shop or range and my purchasing falls in step.  Not much about this hobby excites me unfortunately.

The production situation in China is tough enough for manufacturers (and us) without unsubstantiated headlines and rumors.

Just wild a$$ speculating nothing factual.  I think the thread poster had his pre-order canceled by his dealer.  In starting this topic he expressed it as Trainworx canceling all production.  The thread title has been changed to represent this with the dealer not being mentioned by name.

This is the salient portion of the cancellation email from Pete at BLW -

1. Trainworx had their N Scale models produced in the same factory that served Fox Valley Models.  That factory has been closed down and as a result Trainworx does not expect ANY N scale production for the balance of 2018.  They are in the process of looking for an alternate source but it will take considerable time before actual production can resume.  Price adjustments are possible and they will re-announce product at a later date.   
2. BLW will post links to the www.hogtrainz web page for placing new reservations when the time is appropriate.

Trainworx (Pat) sent this email out at the end of July:

You have all heard the news about the factory closing in China and many have asked if Trainworx will be affected.  Yes, we have projects at this factory and all Trainworx production will be affected.  It is too soon to tell the extent of production set backs.  We are researching our options at this time and hope to get rolling again soon.  Thank you all for your support and patience, I will provide updates when I know more.

Nothing has been cancelled.

Spades:  Thank you.  I first read this after the name change, and didn't really know what was happening...

Mark5:  I got the same email, and as far as I know, Pat hasn't said anything else official.  MAYBE, and this is just speculation on my part, since he'll have to sign new contracts with any new factory, those of us who missed out on the first round of reservations will be able to get in on these.  It wouldn't be any harder for him to order more parts than to order the original number.

For what it's worth, my reservations for these were through Feather River Trains, and I haven't heard anything from Chuck since he announced that he was suspending operations last spring.
